e-PLANETARIUM:
STELLAR PORTAL
|
The CLCC StellarPortal is an out-of-this-world astronomy experience! The inflatable, portable planetarium enables participants to experience the night sky no matter what the weather or the time of day. Constellations, moon phases, planets, seasons, and deep sky objects can be observed in the StellarPortal.
For elementary students the theme is time. The focus will be day/night, seasons, life of stars, solar flares, telescopes, and space “objects” such as the Van Allen Belt.
For middle school students, with Saturn as the focal point and a stellar example of a broad variety of space exploration efforts, topics will include gravity assist, types of spacecraft, specific spacecraft such as Pioneer 10 and 11, Voyager I and II, Cassini, Galileo, and Huygens, Saturn’s Moons, Saturn’s rings, mythology of Saturn, and elevation mapping.
All programs are aligned with national and Colorado State education standards. CLCC helps prepare students for CSAP with an emphasis on science, geography, math, and language skills.
Let us bring the stars to you! We can provide at least two presentations in a single day at your location. Choose from our many program topics that can be individually tailored to fit your class. Each session is designed for up to 25 students.
